On the 23rd and 30th of January 2011 the trials for the Irish Pony Club International teams took place. Monaghan Pony Club had three seniors and two juniors playing for places on the Irish teams. Monaghan had great success with Jamie Reavey selected to represent Ireland in Windsor, which is the top team and the first from Monaghan to go to Windsor since 1995 when Derbhal Mc Cormack qualified. Megan Brennan is heading to Wales and Stephanie O'Connell heading to Northern Ireland. We also had great success with the juniors as there were 15 people playing for 10 places and our two juniors, Eoin Reavey and Nial Hughes got a place on each team to compete in Northern Ireland. It was a great success for Monaghan and we wish our players the best of luck with their teams. To be eligible members must be under 15 on 1/1/11 and be of C test standard. They must be nominated by their D.C.and be good ambassadors for the Irish Pony Club. This involves a massive committment in terms of time, cost and travel !!
